Government & Community Affairs Luncheon
March's speakers will include Lawrence Public Schools Board Chair Shannon Kimball and Superintendent Dr. Anthony Lewis. When it comes to the specific challenges with our public school budget, there are more questions than answers swirling around our community. We are very pleased Ms. Kimball and Dr. Lewis are making themselves available so that your questions can be answered. Among other things, they will explain how current proposed legislation at the statehouse could further exacerbate our local challenges as well as how the State’s decision not to fully fund special education is contributing to our funding shortfall.
The Chamber hosts Government & Community Affairs Luncheons the second Wednesday of each month open to any Chamber member and features speakers on a variety of topics, ranging from voting and elections to affordable housing and economic development. If you're interested in joining GCA, email Vice President of External Affairs Hugh Carter.
To properly order lunch, please register through this calendar event OR by emailing Jared Martin, The Chamber Events Coordinator, at jmartin@LawrenceChamber.com.
