Come join us and learn all about harvesting from a bison on Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM. Community members from all over are invited! Let's work together and make some connections. Then, join us on Sunday, April 28 at 3 PM for a cookout! A big cookout will be held, using what was harvested the day before. Many different cooks will be present! Every month our Envoy group meets to network, discuss current intitiatives, and have fun! What is an Envoy?! 1. Our Envoy committee represents The Chamber in the community. 2. Envoys support local businesses and non-profits and encourage others to do the same. 3. Envoy members attend ribbon cuttings, business after hours, and other Chamber events! 4. This group welcomes new Chamber members and serves as ambassadors for our organization to the business community and the Lawrence community as a whole. 5. Envoys get weekly emails including last minute reminders for events, upcoming event agendas, and more! Who Can Join?! Any employee of a Chamber member business can join the Envoy Committee! Join Sunflower State Dance for our spring performing company showcase Carnival of the Animals! Carnival of the Animals is a children’s ballet set to music Le Carnaval Des Animaux by Saint-Saëns. In this ballet, a group of students visits a museum of natural history on a school trip. Olivia sneaks off as the group is leaving and she falls asleep dreaming about all the different animals coming to life. Our second act will feature contemporary numbers at are carnival and animal themed. Dancers will be performing a modern, jazz, and hip hop numbers. Our show is the perfect length for young children to enjoy! Stop by our gift boutique before the show! Tickets are $9 for adults and children plus ticketing service fee.
